* PPL Navigation and Radio Aids CBT
New, revised and updated computer based training for the JAA/EASA PPL and the UK NPPL.
The private pilot invariably operates as the pilot in command of a single-pilot aircraft. So, in actual fact, he is not only a pilot but a navigator, too. It is essential, therefore, especially during cross-country flights, that the pilot should be able to apply all the correct practices to his navigational task, in a timely manner, without being distracted from flying accurate headings, airspeeds and altitudes. Developing this skill is the very essence of single pilot navigation. The foundation on which this skill resides is meticulous flight planning.
It is the aim of this interactive, multimedia computer-based training (CBT) course to teach you every element of the theory underlying flight planning and the art of single-pilot navigation (and to prepare you for the PPL ground examinations) more quickly, effectively and enjoyably than ever before.
In order specifically to meet the JAR-FCL PPL theoretical knowledge requirements, this CBT also includes basic theory instruction in Radio-Navigation Aids.

"The beauty of CBT in general and this package in particular is the consistency and quality of both presentation and instruction. Your personal trainer never has a bad day." Flyer Magazine, Dec 2003.
"If a picture is worth a thousand words, an interactive CD must be good for several million. OATS [OATmedia] and Transair have put together an ambitious, comprehensive and easy to use ground study package, and as an instructor I’d have no hesitation in recommending it to students. It’s a unique and accessible medium for getting over the massive body of sometimes arcane facts they need to soak up to take their written exams. More than that, it presents the information in such an accessible way that I suspect it will stick in their minds longer than book-derived information" General Aviation, Dec 2003.
"Although there is no substitute for tuition from a professional tutor, this product is a perfect supplement to classroom work." Today's Pilot, Jan 2004
"It's a good piece of training equipment that I would certainly recommend to PPL students and training organisations" Pilot magazine, Feb 2004. Page 1, Page 2 and Page 3
